Dr. Alex Kopek was born and raised in Macomb, MI. He attended and graduated from Rochester College where he played four years of college ice hockey. He graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences in 2019.
Dr. Alex has been a chiropractic patient since he was 6 years old, and always had a heart for chiropractic. When he was 16 years old, after a traumatic nerve injury from an accident that occurred during hockey, he lost total function of his right hand. After multiple tests and nerve studies, he was told that the nerves innervating the hand were completely severed and he would never regain function in his hand ever again. However, through extensive chiropractic care and nerve therapy, 9 months later he regained almost full control of his hand. At that moment, he knew chiropractic was his purpose in life. He continued on to graduate Cum Laude with his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Life University in September of 2021.
Immediately following graduation he had an opportunity to serve the Covington, GA area for 2 years as an associate Doctor of Chiropractic in a large family practice. In that timeframe he was able to greatly grow his passion, craft, and skillset. He helped patients start to feel and move better, but more importantly, their nervous systems started to function better. His passion is to help those in all stages of life, especially athletes due to his love and involvement in sports throughout his life. Therefore, he has always wanted to be an integral part of the healing journey for any athlete when recovering from injury, or help prevent injuries.
Dr. Alex trained and became a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP). This training is designed to expand professional ability in treating extremity conditions. CCEP provides advanced proficiency in analyzing, treating, adjusting, and rehabilitation of the extremities. He’s also an Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) certified provider. This technique, widely known as “scraping”, is designed to release muscle and fascia restrictions to improve function and healing. He also provides cupping therapy which decreases muscle tightness, improves blood flow, and improves range of motion. He primarily utilizes Activator Method, Thompson, Diversified and Sacro-Occipital chiropractic adjusting techniques.
In his spare time, Dr. Alex enjoys time outside with his family, hiking, powerlifting, and playing ice hockey. He has an amazing wife named Maggie, and a rescue pup named Zeus.
